PAUL GRANLUND
HEAD SOCCER COACH
This is the first year Paul Granlund will be coaching soccer at Horizon Christian High School. Coach Paul comes with 27 years of coaching experience. He coached 16 years for North Clackamas and Tualatin Soccer Clubs, 5 years for Three Rivers Soccer Club, and 6 years at Damascus Christian High School. He led the Damascus Eagles to the State Playoffs in 2008.
Growing up in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Paul played baseball, basketball, and golf. The school did not have a soccer team. He started coaching soccer when his kids were young and fell in love with the sport. Paul learned the sport through the Oregon State coaching courses and completed all of the courses including the State D Coaching License. His playing experience started when he was 30 and he has loved playing outdoor city league and indoor soccer for over 30 years. He is still actively playing on a mens city league team.
Paul and his wife Candy have three grown children and 11 grandchildren.
Paul has been very active in church leadership at Milwaukie Covenant Church in Milwaukie, Oregon. He has been involved in teaching the Jr. High Confirmation class and a youth leader for over 15 years.
