Justin Panaitescu - Hawk Heritage Award Recipient
Justin plans on attending George Fox University with Summit and Academic Scholarships to receive a bachelor’s in biology and then go into their Physician Assistant program to receive his masters.
Justin’s favorite class at Horizon Christian was Calculus because of moments beyond just the subject matter. Justin explains that what made it special was “acting out random scenes from Star Wars with the seniors, going to “Calculus the Musical” at OSU, suffering through the midterms and finals together, having a bunch of inside jokes, and having me re-explain to the class the last class’s lesson after having read about it for hours the night before.”
His most memorable moment was when the Cross Country team went to Idaho his sophomore year. “I enjoyed the camaraderie we gained with each other because of Becca and her baby, the gallons of chocolate milk, the love notes we made each other, being out in the freezing weather, and the long bus rides with each other. It perfectly describes Horizon as a place where we have the opportunity to build close relationships with one another.”
When asked what advice he would share with younger students, Justin said, “to put yourself out there and try all the different clubs, sports, and activities the school has to offer because you only get this experience once and the opportunities to meet new people and make new friends is something you don't want to regret.”
Justin’s family would like to add, “We have loved the teachers and programs at Horizon. It has given our kids the Christian education we wanted to set them up for life. The track program has been so great for my boys and their physical fitness. They have had success because of the teachers and coaches and community at Horizon Christian School and our family can’t thank you enough!”
We are so thankful for our students like Justin Panaitescu, who attended Kindergarten through 12th Grade, and for the legacy they are leaving behind.
Congrats, Justin! #HCHSClassof2021
